As a beekeeper places the first hives, we establish pilot teams trained and coached by us. The Scrum teams start working using the Agile frameworks. It is the phase of learning how to Scrum within the organization. We are there to Train.
New Product Owners (the beekeepers) are appointed and new Scrum teams (hives) are established. We assist during a series of sprints. It is the phase of getting used to the Agile way of working within the organization. We are ready to Coach.
Beekeepers and hives are in a flow. They have established their own dynamics and production capacity. Still it is sometimes needed that somebody takes a look and offers some advice. In this phase it is all about excellence in Scrum within the organization. We are now mainly available as Consultants.
Agile coaching is becoming more important; to thoroughly collaborate to the Agile and Scrum principles, to identify and work with various ideologies and practices like Spotify, SAFe and LeSS, to work on the transition towards an Agile organisation, to facilitate groups, teams or squads in their journey towards becoming a ‘highly effective team’. These are all assignments give to Agile Coaches. To prepare yourself for that and to equip yourself, we take an effort in personally train and coach new Agile Coaches.
What Agile Coach training?
Our Agile Coach training is in two parts. A Basic part of four days in which the basic competencies of an Agile Coach are being taught. And an advanced part of eight days in which you engage yourself in all sorts of materials, systems and practices related to Agile and Scrum. In this way you can be proudly wear the title Agile Coach after completion.
Every day results
Every learning day of the Agile Coach training is done according to the Scrum-in-a-day method. That means that every day is related to the total Agile Coach training but is at the same time in itself a result driven day. Every day is closed with some concrete results on a specific theme.
In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is.
We assume that you have a lot of experience as a professional Of course you are conducting training sessions and you already have experiences working with groups. Therefore a large part of the Agile Coach training is conducted by the students themselves. With lessons learned in their own practical environment. Only in this way the Agile / Scrum principles can be executed in reality.
What are the study theme’s?
There are eleven themes:
Group coaching: the dynamics of a group, how to use it. How can you read a group and how to steer the group and what is than important to consider?
What is there to do? – Facilitating is important, Good facilitating is an art. The preparation, coaching and instructing the ceremonies will enhance the result of the group.
Feedback in the group. To provide feedback is one of the main improvement instruments of Scrum, because how to now in another way what to improve. Learn and practice it.
Training is part and parcel of our job. But how do you do that actually? Tips methods and proven practices are discussed and experienced.
Coaching conversations; of course the group is the focus of any Agile Coach but a groups is about human beings and to coach and assist other people in conversations is important.
Motivation in the group. No person is moving without motif. What motives are there and how do you get insights in them. And how can you stimulate people to encourage each other?
Visualising; what is visualizing? Why is it so important? What does it do to people and processes? How can it contribute?
Scalability; how to handle scale in an organization? What other methods and structures are available?
Intervision; how to become a better Agile Coach in cooperation with other coaches? How to use intervision technics in the leadership structure in your organization? In a safe and confronting way.
Coach plan; ith the transition from a beginning team towards an effective team; to work to become a BusDevOps team. To devise an iterating line of approach in an effective way.
Commerce and stakeholders; it is important to support the Product Owners in their approach of stakeholders, what methods are there to put a price on your own work; what does cooperation with other coaches entail?
Demo time; the proof that you are competent. To create a good insight with a presentation of your skills as an Agile Coach. Self-directing and autonomous.
Every day at least one lesson is conducted by a participant (as part of the training). All other lessons are conducted by senior Agile Coaches from Bijenco and other organisations. With a lot of interaction and self-support. Focused on useable practices.
What is the price of this must-do training?
If you choose the Advanced training the price is ZAR 49.900,- (excl VAT) for 12 trainingdays. If you are only interested in the Basic training you pay only ZAR 24.900,- (excl VAT) for 4 days. The start of the training is to be announced.
When do we see each other: The dates of the training will be announced in due time.
We would gladly inform you on all other aspects of the training and we will find the right answers together. To Scrum is never done alone.
General Terms and Conditions of Bijenco SA
We offer workshops. Event and trainings. Sometimes they are paid for, sometimes they are for free. Often we need a minimum amount of attendees, those numbers vary. If we don’t reach the minimum amount of attendees for a certain event, it is cancelled and you will be refunded. We think other terms and conditions are not needed. If something happens what we cannot predict, we will take care of it in cooperation with you and other involved people.
